Greenville, South Carolina Newborn Photographer | Zuri’s Newborn Session

This baby girl was so ridiculously gorgeous! Zuri came to the studio at 8 days new and completely stole my heart. I don’t think she ever made a sound in the entire 90 minutes she was at the studio and I got so much wonderful variety with her. I couldn’t wait to share her gallery with her sweet parents.

Froggy pose will always be one of my favorite poses because of how well it shows off all of baby’s adorable features. Plus, there’s something so sweet about seeing a baby cradle their cheeks in their tiny hands.

When it came to styling Zuri’s newborn session, I had creative freedom - they just wanted feminine but florals and any hints of Spring were welcome. I chose soft pinks and dainty floral accents as the main color palette for her session but incorporated other bold colors in the different setups I designed for her.

My dried floral halos and tiebacks are some of my absolute favorite accessories. They’re the perfect girly touch to any set or pose without being too overpowering.

Zuri is what we photographers would call a dream baby. She slept so soundly and just eased right into every pose. Not even so much as a little baby squeak! I consider myself extremely lucky her parents entrusted me with her newborn photos because it was truly a pleasure from start to finish. The extra baby cuddles certainly don’t hurt either!

I first noticed a hint of her dimples when I was posing her for froggy and she kept smiling when I held her but I kept praying she’d grin at least once for the camera and she did not disappoint.

I’ve been blessed to work with so many gorgeous babies in my career and it never gets old for me. Each newborn photoshoot brings new opportunities and chances to grow as an artist - especially when parents are happy to trust my vision and I get to spread my creative wings. Sometimes I dream up a setup at night and I love when it all comes together the way I planned like this bucket setup with my miniature peacock chair.

We finished her session with an Easter setup since the holiday was right around the corner and got to use my new knitted bunny set made by a friend and fellow photographer, Deborah. Is there anything sweeter than a baby bunny?
